Lancaster Castle on a cold March afternoon, the Graham Liver show with June Leeming, a Magician, some stocks and a very sharp saw, it looked like someone might just lose their head!

But don't worry, it turned out right in the end and was all in aid of the BBC's Comic Relief.

Monday 7^th March 2005
I'm going to be appearing on BBC Radio Lancashire. Exactly how it will work I've no idea, but it's all in aid of the BBC's Comic Relief. As I said it's on Monday 7th March 2005, sometime between 14:00 and 17:00 GMT.

I won't give too much away, but I hope the presenter doesn't lose her head!!

If you're in the Lancashire area, then you can find the station on 95.5, 103.9 or 104.5 FM, depending on where you are.

For those of you further away, I have subscribers in America, South Africa, Australia and even Tonga, then you can listen to the broadcast on the internet by listening live to BBC Radio Lancashire here.

I've been booked to perform at the prestigious Bridgewater Hall in Manchester for their New Year's Eve Opera Gala and celebrations. This will be an evening of superb musical entertainment, featuring many best-loved arias and choruses performed by Manchester Camerata and the Magdala Chorus with fine soloists from the world of opera.

Continue your evening with delicious dining to the sounds of Ged Hone and his Good Time Music and pianist Louise Broome after the performance and of course wonderful close-up magical entertainment from yours truly, bringing you to the midnight countdown in style.

I've been accepted as a member of the world famous Magic Circle. This is something that I've been aiming for, for quite a while now and has taken a good few months to achieve but I have finally succeeded in joining the most prestigious magical society in the world.

It's always daunting taking exams and being examined by your peer group, but when those peers are themselves Magic Circle members it's one hundred times worse.

Now that I am a member, you can be assured that I will maintain my high standards of quality magical entertainment and uphold the traditions of The Magic Circle, so if you want to know how I did it, all I can say is.....very well thank you!

I'm at a Wedding Fayre at the Town Hall, Ashton under Lyne, Lancs, on Sunday 17^th October 2004, you'll find me on or around the Rumour Entertainments stand. I had a great day working for the Health Authority in Manchester, first of all at St Mary's Ante Natal Clinic and then at the Manchester Stadium for the launch of Manchester Smoke Free Homes initiative. Last night the Order of the Magi, based in Manchester, held their annual close-up competition. Although I was not fortunate enough to win the overall prize, there was some stiff competition, I did win the 'Sly' Smith shield for the best card trick of the evening.

The picture shows Ian receiving the award from John 'sly' Smith, secretary of the Order of the Magi.
